Rider Stories

"Kate has been riding with Banbury Cross since Summer 2021 and that has been the highlight of her weeks. She is always looking forward to Saturdays where she gets to ride her horse, Gracie.

Since she started riding, we have seen a huge boost in her confidence, as well as compliance. During her sessions with Banbury since 2021, Kate has been riding 4 different horses and this greatly helps her willingness to transition from one thing to another. All those were areas where she struggled with before, both at home and at school.

Kate loves animals and riding the horse let her bonds with Gracie which she loves, as well as learning how to listen and follow instructions. She proudly made horseback riding as part of her identity which she often mentioned at school. When she is 'off the lead', I can tell that it gave her such a confidence boost that she feels like she can do anything. This improves her behavior and compliance at school, which in turns improves her academic performance as well.

In Kate’s own words today when I asked her about horseback riding : “Gracie is my favorite horse. I really like doing the trail ride with her and learning how to do 2-points while trotting!”

Thank you Banbury Cross team for everything you do! And yes, THANK YOU Gracie !!!"
